The performer who is awarded with “Best Performance” will have the opportunity to participate in CAP21 Conservatory’s Summer Pre-College Musical Theatre Training Program and Musical Theatre College Audition Prep Program. For more information about the program, read on.


CAP21 Conservatory

SUMMER PRE-COLLEGE MUSICAL THEATRE TRAINING PROGRAM

2013 Program Dates: Sun., June 30, 2013 through Sat., July 27, 2013

Current High School Juniors & Seniors

This four-week intensive program trains pre-college age students in the field of musical theatre performance. Equal importance is placed on acting, singing and dance. Courses include Acting/Scene Study, Acting/Improv, Vocal Performance, Vocal Technique, a full Dance Program (jazz/theatre dance, tap and ballet) and Music Theory.

Program Hours: Mon. – Fri. 10AM to 5pm/6pm (No classes Mon, July 4). Classes end Sat, July 27, with a celebration of the students work as an Open House day for families to visit and observe classes. MUSICAL COLLEGE AUDITIONS PREP PROGRAM

2013 Program Dates: Mon., July 29, 2013 through Fri., August 2, 2013

This one week program focuses on training students in skills necessary for musical theatre auditions. Emphasis will be placed on audition and interview preparation for college and professional training schools.

The Up & Comers Award:

The performer who is awarded The Up & Comer Award will have the opportunity to attend a summer session of Camp Broadway’s The Next Step Program for performers, aged 15-18. For more information about the program, read on.

Camp Broadway: The Next Step

Camp Broadway: The Next Step ℠ trains experienced performers ages 15-18 to improve their unique style and presentation skills through solo and small group acting, singing, and dancing classes, all under the guidance of a mentoring coach. The package includes:

  • 5 days (40 hours) of intensive triple threat instruction across various singing, acting, and dancing disciplines by trained Broadway professionals
  • Master classes with Broadway artists
  • Q&A sessions with industry professionals
  • Ticket to a Broadway show
  • Official Camp Broadway t-shirts
  • Nutritious lunches and snacks

The program culminates in a special on-stage performance for family and friends. Campers are separated into two rehearsal groups by age. Open to all skill levels; no previous experience is necessary to enroll. Value – $1395
